Middle Grades Talent

6th and 7th grade is the time for exploration.

Students have an opportunity to experience a new talent within the Visual and Performing Arts every fall and spring semester, and only repeating a talent twice over the two years.

They have the ability to explore 4 out of the 5 talent courses offered.

Talent courses are as follows: Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater, Visual Arts and Vocal Music.

Focus in each course changes annually.

When students enter the 8th grade, they will decide which of the Visual and Performing Arts talent courses they would like to major in and follow that path for the following 5 years if they continue their academic career at McKinney.
